“Rest day”

We had an early start with a sea kayak safety briefing at 8.30 am. I had warned Janis not to get in a double kayak with me but it turned out these ones had steering pedals so there was nothing to argue about and we are still friends.

We had some challenging moments paddling into the wind but were rewarded when the wind turned in time to blow us back to the shore at the end of the morning.

We spent a lazy afternoon reading and writing and doing tapestry (Janis), In my cases waiting for the wind to die down and the sun to come out. In the end I gave up and went for a brief swim in some misty rain.

Tomorrow is another long day but with fewer and less severe hills than on day 3.
