Birds
These were the only two I could capture from our balcony. I have decided not to edit the photos as it gives a better idea of what I was trying to deal with.
While at Russell we also saw my old friends the oystercatchers, lots of ducks and gulls, myna birds and, on our walk back from Long Beach a kingfisher and a pair of parakeets and in the night we could hear a morepork
VIneyards and Chandeliers
The smallest vineyard I have ever seen and ten chandeliers in the bar side dining room. (This comment is really only of interest to my family: when the children were growing up our shorthand for how well they had to behave was based on a French restaurant guide’s number of chandeliers for how smart a restaurant was – it went to four. Fortunately, in spite of the profusion of chandeliers , the Duke of Marlborough was thoroughly unstuffy).
